This free demo is the first two nights of the shift: the hatch, the file, the covered gurney behind the glass, and a rulebook that already has more pages than anyone mentioned at the interview. Quarantine any intake presenting vital signs. Do not open the bag. Do not speak to it. Night shift at a municipal morgue. A bell rings. Paperwork comes through the hatch. Behind the observation glass, a covered gurney rolls into the intake bay. The clerk's job is written down: confirm that the paperwork and the body are the same thing.PLEASE CONFIRM THE DECEASED is a gatekeeper horror game about procedure: a form that is nearly right, a weight that is nearly correct, and a rulebook that keeps adding pages you would rather not have read.

Reject any intake whose measured weight differs from the certificate by 10 kg or more. Read the file: the death certificate and the transfer manifest. Any of the names, weights, heights, dates or signatures may be lying. Check the body with the scale, the measuring tape, the thermometer and the stethoscope. Stamp ACCEPT, QUARANTINE or REJECT. Or call your supervisor, if you still have a call left. An intake reading 30 °C or above is not cold. What is not cold is not accepted.
